Hey my beautiful friends,
Today I am going to talk about my first ever hand made, all natural chemical free soap. This is by Juicy Chemistry.Juicy chemistry is my favourite organic brand. They have variety of products from soaps to hair oils, moisturisers to masks. They are 100 % natural so they have shorter shelf life. The products are easily available on Nykaa and they have their own website as well.I was in search of chemical free hair cleanser,so decided to give it a try.The soap is meant to be used for babies but I decided to use it for my hairs. My hairs are in the worst condition these days, constant dandruff and hairfall is annoying me so much .So I thought I should ditch all those SLS laden shampoos.I also picked a hair serum from JC for dandruff, currently testing it out so that I can give my final review. So,lets quickly start with my thoughts about it.
Our hand-crafted soaps are made using traditional cold process methods and contain a high percentage of nutrient-rich oils, organic botanicals, and purifying Aloe Vera. Make shower-time fun again for you & your little one!
Aloe Barbadensis Miller (Aloe Vera Gel), Aloe Barbedensis (Aloe Vera Oil), Calendula officinalis (Calendula Oil) , Olea europea (Extra Virgin Olive Oil), Ricinus communis (Castor Oil), Cocos nucifera (Virgin Coconut Oil), Distilled Water, Sodium Hydroxide (Lye)*
Aloe Vera has been used for a host of purposes since the ancient Egyptians called it the “plant of immortality. Aloe leaves secrete a clear gel when broken off from the rest of the plant and it can be applied topically to heal wounds and soothe skin. Aloe leaves contain a plethora of antioxidants including, beta carotene, vitamin C and E that can help improve the skin’s natural firmness and keep the skin hydrated.
Aloe Vera Oil is obtained via the process of maceration. In this process, the herbal gel is mixed with oil at higher temperature. The oil soaks up nutrients from Aloe Vera gel. After some time, it is filtered to remove out the plant components. This oil extraction technique is used for many herbal oils.
Calendula is beneficial for dry or damaged skin and also promotes the fast healing and regeneration of the skin thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. All-rounder oil, Calendula is great for all skin types as it has natural restorative properties that infuse the skin with a youthful glow.
Virgin Coconut Oil
Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera) is widely used in beauty products. Extremely beneficial to both skin and hair, it softens skin, helps retain moisture, and prevents skin infection. It also acts to repair skin and delays ageing. Our oil is cold-pressed to retain the highest levels of goodness.
Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
The olive tree (Olea europaea) is the staple of any Mediterranean landscape. Olive Oil is a great ingredient for skin care because it contains squalene which is a compound found in human sebum. Also a great natural source of vitamin E, it is an anti-ageing superstar. In addition to this, it contains essential fatty acids which boosts skin health and moisturises it for a healthy glow. Our oil is cold-pressed to retain the highest levels of goodness.

My thoughts about Juicy Chemistry Aloe and Calendula Body and Hair soap
The soap comes in a beautiful hand made weaved packaging .I really like how they continue with “natural” theme with their packaging also. The pouch in which soap came is recyclable too.The soap is yellow in colour and it does not have any strong smell.I feel sometimes it smells like Ghee (clarified butter) I think because it is mix of different oils. The smell is neither pleasant nor annoying and it vanishes pretty quickly. I use that pouch to store the soap. You have to be careful while storing this soap because when when contacted with water for a long time it starts to melt,so store in a dry place. My biggest concern before using handmade soap was whether it will be able to clean heavily oiled hair, will it foam??? But I am very happy to share with you all that this soap foams really well and also clean each and every strand of my hair .I am still wandering what ingredient make it to produce foam.I have used half of the soap and I think it is a good hair cleanser. It cleanses well and make the hair soft and manageable at the same time.Only a small amount of product is needed to cover entire head.I have used this on both oiled as well as non oiled hair and it never made my manes dry or frizzy.I have stopped using conditioner since I am using it and I never miss that too ;).I am happy with the soap but it did nothing to reduce my dandruff. It controlled little bit of hair fall but I think I should regularly use it, after all the damage that chemical shampoos has given cannot be healed so quickly.I will update after using it for 4 to 6 months at least.Another thing which I dont like about it is its price. It is expensive especially when you have to use it regularly. The soap will last for 1.5 months if used twice or thrice a week.
Final Thoughts –I think it is a nice hand made soap and can be used on body and hair as well.It foams well, cleanses well and does not dry out hairs.I will repurchase it again and use it regularly so give some TLC to my hairs. It is a bit exensive for a soap.I hope the price was a bit low.
